Freedom of movement is essential to life. Any hindrance to movement is detrimental to health and can quickly lead to illness.

Specialized in sports surgery and osteoarthritis at the Paris Lilas private hospital, Dr. Majed ISSA addresses joint, bone, tendon, and muscle pathologies and trauma.

Cutting-edge procedures on the hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder and hand enable the restoration or improvement of their movement and function.

Special attention is given to minimally invasive surgery, including hip arthroscopy, anterior approach hip replacement, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, and percutaneous surgery.

    Answers to your questions!

When can i go swimming after my surgery?

Swimming is only permitted at a minimum of one month after surgery. The maceration of a wound that has not completely healed in water can lead to an infection.

How long after a hip or knee replacement can I walk?

Typically you will be walking the morning after the surgery, very often even on the evening of the surgery, with the support of crutches or a walker.

What is the lifespan of my hip replacement?

A properly installed hip replacement can last up to 20 to 25 years. More and more prostheses are being reviewed even after 30 years, due to the notable improvements in the machining and design of implants since the 1990s.

Can I travel one week after the operation?

It is not advisable to travel so soon after surgery. Ideally, you should stay within close proximity to your surgeon for at least the first 3 weeks or until the first follow-up appointment. In case of any issues, this will allow you to quickly consult us again and receive prompt care.

What signs should concern me after surgery?

In the case of significant and progressive redness, a fever >38.5°C (101.3°F), discharge beyond the 5th post-operative day, calf pain on the operated side, chest pain, or shortness of breath, it is better to consult your surgeon or go to the emergency room without delay.

When can I resume sports after an ACL reconstruction?

You can usually start swimming, straight-line jogging, and gym workouts as early as the 3rd month post-surgery. Contact sports, pivot sports, or team sports should not be resumed until at least 10 months post-surgery.

    What is a PRP injection?

PRP is an acronym for Platelet Rich Plasma.
It is a component of our blood which concentrates anti-inflammatory proteins, growth and healing factors.
A classic blood sample is taken, then processed in a machine with a specific disposable kit. No drugs or chemical elements are included, PRP is a purely autologous product.
PRP infiltration has scientifically demonstrated its effectiveness on chronic tendinopathy and mild to moderate osteoarthritis (knee, hip, shoulder tendons, Achilles tendon, etc.).
It is a cutting-edge treatment which is used especially among athletes!
