My assistant will call you 24 to 72 hours before your procedure to inform you of the exact time we expect you at the clinic.
In the majority of cases, especially when it comes to outpatient surgery, you are summoned on the morning of the surgery itself.
- You must strictly fast from midnight, unless otherwise instructed by the surgeon or anesthesiologist. No food, drink, or cigarettes.
- Poor compliance can lead to reflux of stomach contents, which may be partially inhaled into the lungs.
- We would therefore be forced to postpone the procedure if the fasting instructions are not perfectly followed.
Remember to bring the personal items necessary for your stay: Toiletry bag, clothing, personal soap, towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, pajamas or nightgown, slippers.
Upon your arrival, you will first need to visit the admissions department, located on the ground floor of the clinic, which will carry out your registration and verify that you have everything you need. For this procedure, you must bring the following documents:
➜ Your informed consent, duly filled and signed. For minors: surgery authorization signed by BOTH parents.
➜ Identification document.
➜ Vital card or third-party payer certificate.
➜ Mutual insurance card.
➜ Imaging necessary for your procedure (X-rays, MRI, CT scan).
➜ All the elements requested by the anesthesiologist during the anesthesia consultation: Blood group card, additional blood tests, consultations (Dentist, Cardiology, Pulmonology, etc.).
➜ Your list of regular medications. It would also be wise to bring your usual medication boxes.
The admissions officer will then indicate your room number and how to get there.
➜ Upon your arrival in the hospitalization department, a nurse will welcome you and settle you into your room.
➜ Place your valuable personal belongings in your cupboard and give the key to your nurse or a relative.
➜ The nurse will then carry out the preparation for the surgery: Setting up an intravenous infusion if needed, administering tablets, checking the shaving of the surgical site, instructions for the second preoperative shower, etc.
➜ You are ready! The stretcher bearer will come to pick you up, standing or on a stretcher, depending on your type of surgery. The waiting time can sometimes be longer than expected for various reasons, consider bringing something to keep you occupied, just in case.
